Up close and personal
Like most young boys growing up out in the country, I have always had an interest in snakes, lizards and anything that crawled or slithered. Unlike most though, my interest in these things have increased. I would've killed for a lens and camera like this when I was young though! I decided to do this project in conjunction with my girlfriends project. She was shooting video, while I shot stills. Once the video is done I'll post that as well. Until then I hope you find these photos as beautiful and interesting as I do. The animals used are two Leopard Geckos and a Giant Shield Mantis. I hope to continue this project in the future as well.

Creepy Crawlies
In the spirit of the Halloween season I decided to have some fun with a few creepy critters and a very brave model. We all survived (including the animals) without any bites, stings, or pinches and only a few screams. Happy Halloween!

Red Bull Rampage!
This month I had the opportunity to check out one of the most insane extreme sporting events in the world. Red Bull Rampage brings the worlds greatest downhill mountain bikers to Southern Utah for a 3 day event that is an unbelievable spectacle and an experience that I won't ever forget. It is so remote you either have to shuttle, walk or bike in the 4 miles of dirt roads to even get to the event. It is a come at your own risk event that has unforgiving terrain, dangerous animals and riders flying down the mountain sometimes without much warning at all. Needless to say all senses had to be at the ready, especially once you start scaling the treacherous course to gain a better vantage point. I have to thank Stan Evans and Jarad Kleinberg for including me in this adventure. This was something that was definitely out of my usual type of photography, but I learned a lot and didn't come back too banged up.

Mountain Man Activities
All too soon summer has ended, but I was fortunate enough to have an amazing summer this year. It was very busy like most people's, but at least it ended with me finally getting some time in the mountains. The mountains and camping have always been one of my favorite activities, but since moving to the hustle and bustle of living in the city, the mountains are a savior. The other activity that I have made an annual tradition is venturing to the Fort Bridger Rendezvous in historic Fort Bridger, Wyoming. I am even more grateful that I had great friends to spend these moments with again this year. The following come from my last week of summer getting the most out of it as possible. I definitely wasn't disappointed this year.
