Mountain Man Activities

All too soon summer has ended, but I was fortunate enough to have an amazing summer this year. It was very busy like most people's, but at least it ended with me finally getting some time in the mountains. The mountains and camping have always been one of my favorite activities, but since moving to the hustle and bustle of living in the city, the mountains are a savior. The other activity that I have made an annual tradition is venturing to the Fort Bridger Rendezvous in historic Fort Bridger, Wyoming. I am even more grateful that I had great friends to spend these moments with again this year. The following come from my last week of summer getting the most out of it as possible. I definitely wasn't disappointed this year.

Guns and a Girl

What happens when you take a girl from the city and bring her to the country? Shooting firearms of course! One of my favorite parts of going back home to Wyoming is going and firing off a few rounds on the outskirts of town. This was the first time Diana got to shoot a gun, and the expression is priceless.

Moab shoot with Photographer Teresa Flowers

So as usual things have been a little crazy and I am just now getting to uploading some behind the scenes photos from the shoot I assisted for the very talented Teresa Flowers. I've know Teresa since 2009 and she has been on of the most honest and inspirational photographers I've had the chance to work with. Her ideas are unique and some might say "out there" but it is all in all very much Teresa's style. I have been lucky to know Teresa not only on a professional level, working on shoots with her, but on a personal level as well. This shoot in Moab included myself and Teresa along with the talented models Brooke Rowley and Phoebe Davenport as well as Lauren Fisher for hair and makeup. We spent 2 full days in Moab Utah to create these photographs, the amazing landscape coupled with the beauty of the models made for exquisite opportunities for photos. All wardrobe, locations, models and ideas were supplied by Teresa Flowers. I was just there to help capture what was in front of me. A Girl from Idaho

Since I have been working with Stan Evans Photography, we have always had a full game plan of light setups and complicated shots. This one had a few ideas but mainly wanted to use available light and one model in different locations. We went up near Huntsville and enjoyed just shooting for the fun of it and got some really great stuff. Thanks to Kelsey Kodanko for being an awesome model, and to the Shooting Star Saloon that let us take photos in their very unique bar. Not to mention they have a burger you have to try before you die!

Miss Heidi

This was also from the same shoot that I talked about below. Still just working with a great new lens and the available light to get these. I really loved what came out though. This was my third time working with miss Heidi Carlsen on shoots with Stan Evans. She is an amazing model and extremely easy to photograph.

Curls and Light

So I have been working for and assisting the photographer Stan Evans of Salt Lake City (you can check out his work at www.stanevansphoto.com) for the last year now. The one of the many perks to this job is being able to get some shots at the shoots. I took the following images with just available light in the studio instead of getting to use the strobes. What I ended up with though I was very happy with for just shooting some quick shots. The model is Charity Renfro who was a pleasure to meet and work with.
